Tony Knox from 2000 june to 2005
March
A good bye to the egg space tony
knox leaves after four and a half period, he had committed himself
to assisted artist and help nurture the new Generation of artist
into the city on a voluntary bases, he has now parted ways with
the space this was a free space for artist to show there work.
"I
feel that there are now other Gallery spaces in liverpool like,
corner stone and Qiggins gallery & South botheman and issue
gallery in Smithdown road that are now exist, giving artist the
opportunity to show work when I started the egg space there was
a void of gallery spaces in Liverpool the hanover gallery closed
2002, fact building did not exit and Jump ship rat was closed after
the 2002 biannual as did the view and collect gallery, this was
one of the many reasons, this void of opportunity for artist to
show in liverpool was a principal reason I started the take over
the acorn gallery and changed it to egg space, in 2000 there was
a lack of gallery spaces in Liverpool, now that is not the case
but how long can they sustain themselves is another matter.
