Based in North west, England, Podgy is the concept of Tony Knox a fine artist that works with different mediums, Podgy It is artist led and founded on the different cultural traditions, street and popular culture, contemporary and traditional art forms.

One of the key aims of podgy is to generate new and inspiring art work & collaborations with other artist's this is to generate a positive infrastructure where new and exciting work is conceived. Podgy is an artist led enterprise one of the functions is to assist development of artists and to give them an opportunity to show work in a gallery context or a web based context.

To relate the diversity and exhibit art from professional and community based interests. Podgy's aims is to support and extend this creativity within the community by supporting artists and their work, both in the regional, national and international cultural sectors.

This curatorial support has been provided through the venue of the Egg Space Gallery (2000-2005) and other temporary Gallery large scale bases. The art exhibited within the Egg Space Gallery and other associated venues provided an experience in both the space it occupies and the time it exists, demonstrating and nurturing a relevance to contemporary importance and interest.

It is an exploration of the relationship between art and life in the research and development of contemporary culture. Podgy mediates with other cultural organizations and events, such as the Liverpool Culture Company and the Liverpool European City of Culture 2008 and the A Foundation representing the Independent of the Liverpool Biennial 2004, where events are programmed to coincide.

These collaborations bring together British based artists and more international names to the British art market and audience. This is to enable the range of work to be more expansive, both in content and source, with artists from the local community, region and internationally.
